If you've ever met me, you probably know that I really love Disney. Like, really love. If there are three things I'm passionate about, they're Jesus, photography, and Disney. One of my favorite quotes is from Walt, when he said "Of all of our inventions for mass communication, pictures still speak the most universally understood language." One of the things that I've always loved most about taking and sharing photos is that no matter who you are or where you come from, you can get something from them. Photos can make you think and feel and understand. They can bring important subjects into the light and they can take you back to times you wish you could relive. There is no language barrier. You can choose to show the nitty-gritty of reality or imagine something completely new. There is no limit.
I've always had a thing for documentary style photography. Weddings, events, tours, travel, you name it. Recently, I came across the Disney Parks Photo Project blog and I haven't been able to stop looking at it since. Someday, I hope to work for the Disney Corporation in some way and maybe somewhere down the road, collaborate with them to work on something like the photo project or this fashion shoot at Disneyland. I can't think of a better way to make magic than by combining two of the things I love most.
Last week, my dad and I took a short trip down to Orlando to visit the Kingdom (eep!) and I brought my camera along with me to shoot around a little bit. It was a beautiful day full of perfect weather and fun character hang-outs and rides with no lines and yummy treats, and I couldn't have asked for a better visit. Now, without further adieu, here are some of my favorite photos and character visits:
